My journey into the world of martial arts began at the tender age of seven in Mexico, under the guidance of a dedicated karate instructor. By the age of ten, I was introduced to boxing as a response to bullying. At sixteen, my family relocated to Camarillo, California, where I trained at La Colonia Gym in Oxnard. There, I had the incredible opportunity to learn from renowned boxers. After a stint as a wildland firefighter, I took a break from boxing, but my commitment to the sport never wavered.
Upon moving to Bakersfield, I trained with **Vincent Juarez** at the Juarez Boxing Gym. Following its closure, I continued my journey with **Joe Cardenas** at the Refuse to Lose Boxing Club. After his passing, I trained with **Jose Lopez** at the Old Town Kern Boxing Club, each experience enriching my understanding of boxing and its values.
I made a significant life decision to join the military, serving as a wheeled vehicle mechanic and driver. Unfortunately, I faced a medical discharge, which redirected my focus. Now, I am determined to give back to the community, particularly to those struggling with weight issues, self-esteem challenges, or the cycle of bullying—whether as victims or perpetrators.
Throughout my boxing journey, I have had the privilege to train alongside exceptional talents, but my focus remains on the coaches who guided me. teaching me that discipline and focus are paramount in achieving any goal.
Today, as a father, I am thrilled to share this passion with my nine-year-old daughter, who aspires to become an Olympian. It is my mission to instill in her the values of hardwork, determination, and resilience -qualities that have been the cornerstone of my journey. I believe that with the right mindset and dedication, anything is possible, and I am committed to helping others realize their potential through the transformative power of boxing.
Remember Hardwork beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.
